John Carlton’s Best Ads: Hit-Generating Postcard

Here’s a quickie 6″x 4″ postcard I had my client send out to his house list to boost the hits on his new website.  Instead of simply offering a reduced price for the product, we actually credited the recipient’s dot-com account with $20, good for two weeks.

The free report — a little friendly “bribe” — was downloadable.  So there were no printing costs involved, no shipping and handling necessary.

Postcards can be mega-effective sales tools.  It’s a size the reader can tuck into his shirt pocket, to retrieve when he’s at the computer. And the lure of already having money in his account is huge.

There ‘s quite a lot of copy on this little card.  Tiny type size   Yet very readable.  Don’t be afraid to squish your copy to make it fit. People will squint to read copy that hits their passionate sweet spot.
