Hi Joshua: You can get personal help from a pro copywriter if you sign up for the Simple Writing System coaching program. First, though, go through the Express Course, which is free. This will give you an intro to the course. There is a link in the right column.
In any case, you can get your questions answered by posting them here.
Hope this…Read more

Hi everyone, I’m new here. I have been writing copy for around 10 years and write for some of the biggest business/marketing coaches in Australia (that’s where I am).
I look forward to learning more from this community.
I do have a question I would like some input. I would like to build a coaching/consulting side to my business so I’m not…Read more-
Hi Mick: There are a lot of business owners who take the Simple Writing System to learn copy. Some want to be able to write their own copy, some want to be able to write quick pieces from time to time without having to hire a copywriter and some just want to be able to tell good copy from bad copy so they can get the best work from a copywriter…Read more

Thanks Virginia. So maybe there is a niche I can target to build my coaching business.

Hi Mick: Yes, targeting is key. People will be much more willing to hire a “specialist” than someone who works with many types of businesses.
Harlan Kilstein (a successful copywriter and one of the Simple Writing System coaches) talks about it in this clip from an Action Seminar:…Read more

Hello,
I know of this site from reading Entrepreneur’s guide to getting your shit together. It was great! If I were to choose just 1 business book, this is the one.
I’m quite successful in my business, OEM jewelry manufacturing. I’m dealing with many jewelry brands like Cartier, Tiffany and such. I don’t have any problem closing deals…Read more

I have a question around self-esteem.
A lot of copywriters, myself included, don\’t charge their worth.
I\’d be curious to hear what books, posts, or training you guys would recommend.
Thanks,
Adil-

Everyone monetary worth for the work they do is what someone will pay you to do it.

John Carlton’s Best Ads: Butt-Ugly Golf
I've written something like 4,000 direct mail letters and direct response ads for golf products now. Okay, that's a bit of an exaggeration, but not much. Sometimes, the best ads come from sheer desperation. I was hitting the very bottom of my bag of tricks last year,...
John Carlton’s Best Ads: Everything And The Kitchen Sink #2 – Entire Library Of Fighting Videos
There are two ads referenced in this commentary. This is the second one (last couple of paragraphs). Another Rodale piece-- this time, they got impatient selling individual books about the various parts of men's lives... and decided to just lump everything together...
John Carlton’s Best Ads: The Financial Bloodbath Caused By Criminal Scum
Gary Halbert gets credit for the headline and concept on this one. I was working with him at the time, in the last days of the Reagan presidency, when the financial markets -- and especially the precious metals markets -- were causing investors migraines. Banks were...
John Carlton’s Best Ads: The Nearly-Crippled Businessman
Here is an early self-defense letter, which struck a major nerve in the customer base for this market. It's run every year for the last decade in the major magazines and mailed even more often to hotlists. The appeal is simple and to the point: This is hard-core...
Hi Joshua!
You’re good enough whenever you feel you’re good enough. Everyone is constantly learning and improving but if you don’t take the leap some time you’ll never get anywhere.
Go hunting, the market will tell you whether your skills are at the level they need to be to compete in your area.
As for charging, if you’re unsure just go with…Read more
