Need some clarification on the topic of a video.
So this is for my client that has the window tinting business. We need to boost conversions, so I’m thinking of adding a video on the Thank You page after the prospect fills out an online quote form.
I’m just having trouble coming up with the content for that video. At first, I was thinking of…Read more

Asking for help seems brutally difficult for me (I’d rather be hiding in a cave digging for clues alone), but the product’s worth putting out there, so …
… I’m asking for advice since my puny hunting skills aren’t enough to slay this mammoth and drag it back home alone.
I sent this promo: a life-saving biz-op like product for chiropractors…Read more

Thank you Virginia for your precious advice!
Here are parts which hit home the most:
“It is very tough selling a $2400 course just from an email and 2 sales letters.”
Thank you for confirming what I suspected – obviously, it removes a lot of pressure by helping me have more realistic expectations.
“Every time you make someone click you are…Read more

Yes, I spent quite a lot of time on the Kickass Copywriting Secrets and John’s Freelancer Course already … They helped immensely, though from what I see, I haven’t made enough progress yet, and so I’m assuming spending more time there (especially more practice) will help (until I get the lessons).
I am considering the SWS, though I’m unsure if…Read more

Hi Cezary. I looked through your copy… and much of my advice is the same as I gave to Jason, below — you need to get back into having a real conversation with your prospect. Right now, you’re “presenting” your case, as if you’d just walked into the room and dominated the conversation, using charts and figures, and making people think. Don’t do…Read more

I can’t thank you enough, John.
I’ve spent the last 30 minutes re-reading your advice – you’re 100% correct. Every word.
I had read your reply to Jason before I posted, but I only now see how relevant those suggestions are.
I can’t decide whether I’m shaken or excited. Probably both, because
you covered points I would’ve never considered,…Read more

John Carlton’s Best Ads: One-Time-Only Market Test
I first learned the "market test" concept from Jay Abraham. He had convinced a major publisher of financial newsletters to offer a dozen of them for, like, $19. Normally, each subscription would have separately cost as much as $200 or more. So this was giving away...
John Carlton’s Best Ads: The Amazing Secrets Of A Short, Desperate Nerd From Pomona
The book being touted in this ad was written by a nice young Catholic boy who married the first girl he ever kissed. It's true. I couldn't make this stuff up. The client actually had the goods -- he had learned some pretty remarkable insights and tactics in the mating...
John Carlton’s Best Ads: Hyper-Effective Cover Letter #2: I Got a Hole-In-One
One of the biggest mistakes marketers make... is to get tired of their own advertising before the ads are actually dead. Sometimes, they pull ads that are still cooking at peak efficiency. They see the ad every day, they get tired of it, bored with it,...
John Carlton’s Best Ads: The Fifty Bucks Letter
Sometimes we all like to pretend we're not motivated by money. That's fine to believe if you want...but you cannot afford such delusions if you are a marketer. People respond to money at a visceral level They almost never receive money for free, and especially not in...
Virginia,
We do not have a video for the opt in form. The owner is shy to be on camera, so we have taken pictures of him doing the work and that’s what we were going to use as the slides and have him narrate it. But would that be a strong enough appeal?
Hi Vitaly – I like your idea of a video showing the care and detail these folks put into window tinting. It would have to be a good quality shoot. Add some background music and a voice over to re-sell the service. I wouldn’t describe the process. Let the video demonstrate, as you said, the main stuff. The voice over could be anyone, so if the…Read more
