John,
I believe Lorrie Morgan Ferrero is a good friend of yours!
On Facebbook since Monday she has another closed session called “30 Day Story Writing Playground” which she invited me in to this 30 day session and it’s great fun! It really allows you to hone your story telling skills and if anyone wants to get in its only 3 days in the running and…Read more -

Hello folks! Is anyone familiar with writing copy or content for Info Marketing Industry?
I just got off of a very interesting teleconference where Dan Kennedy is discussing the opportunities available in this area!
Actually Dan is promoting the certification courses he’s offering on this topic in conjunction with AWAI.
Dan says this is a very…Read more-
What do you mean by ‘Info Marketing Industry’.
I believe 100% of digital products sold online would be under the umbrella of ‘info marketing’ – because they’re all information-products (as opposed to e-commerce, software-services or virtual services).-
No, It’s a specific industry unto itself. Check out Information Marketing Assiciation/IMA if you’re not familiar with it this will explain it to you.

Actually, if you’re interested go to AWAI website where they list their courses and check out the Dan Kennedys Information Marketing Course it goes into great detail on the subject. I don’t believe we are allowed to post product links here or I’d link it for you directly. It’s pretty interesting and looks like a lot of $ to be made!
-
Hi Larry: You are allowed to link to courses as long as you think they are worthwhile and as long as it is not an affiliate link.
-
Oh, okay! Yea it’s an AWAI course I will link it later if I can! Thanks Virginia!

Unless the way the term is used has changed, “content” refers to non-sales writing, such as articles, fulfillment reports, courses, books and so on.
In my early career as a freelancer, I wrote up the bonus reports for offers made by established copywriters (like Gary Benzivenga and Jim Rutz) — whenever a copywriter promises a bonus report, or a…Read more

Thanks John!
As an AWAI Circle of Success Member Dan and AWAI give us a really good price on course and adding Dans “certification” after satisfactorily completing the course certainly couldn’t hurt!
I will certainly let you know what I discover!
Best Regards,

Hey John,
I thought the best way was to send you Dan Kennedys own description of the INFORMATION MARKETING course material so I forwarded it to you in 2 emails c/o Stan
Possibly you have an opportunity to look at it and let me know what you think!
Thanks much!

John,
Ann forwarded you Dans description and you’ll see while Info Marketing does involve content it’s also a lot of copy such as direct response, newsletter, emails, and more! I joined tonight while COS discount in effect!
Thanks!

John Carlton and Dan Kennedy both spoke at an AWAI event in October. AWAI will be sending you an email in a week or two that will give you access to Carlton’s presentation, including the offer he made at the event. (It includes a personal, private critique by John + lots of other training materials and small group coaching.)
My assumption is…Read more

Thanks Stan!
I joined Dan Kennedy’s course on INFO MARKETING at AWAI.
The CIRCLE OF SUCCESS discount offered was the proverbial “offer you can’t refuse” and like John, Dan Kennedy is an A lister I’ve followed in admiration quite awhile and look forward to learning from!
Have a great weekend!

On Trashy Magazines:
I just took the advice of a bunch of marketers (including John Carlton) and bought a handful of trashy magazines.
Maybe Australia is different from the US… but I found three direct response ads and only ONE that seemed to actually make any sense.
It blew my mind.
I DEFINITELY got a massive education in headline writing from t…Read more-
Direct Response is live and kicking mate. Not so prominent in the magazines. A lot of it here is online and in Direct Mail.

Daniel – I am not familiar with the Australian magazine market. But let’s make sure we’re talking about the same type of magazine.
“Trashy” here in the US means mostly the celebrity gossip space. Frequently found at the checkout at food stores.
Did you look at financial / investment magazines. Some of them are packed with ads for advice and…Read more

I bought a bunch of gossip magazines to start out (I’d never even opened one before).
I picked up a couple Reader’s Digest and found more DR.
I’ll check out some of the more niche magazines!
(My girlfriend has been getting right into this now too – she keeps sending me photos of different ads she sees laughing at how confusingly cryptic a lot of them are)

John Carlton’s Best Ads: Black Hawk Down!
I read a lot. And I advise you to read a lot, too. As an old English teacher once told me: Read a book a week. And then, in your spare time, read another one. Non-fiction, and fiction. Newspapers and magazine excerpts don't count. (One trick I allow myself: At any...
John Carlton’s Best Ads: Your Personal Invitation
I love to do "personal invitations". It's the ultimate use of personalization. You don't have to make the piece "look" like a real invitation, but you can. I haven't tested this option, but my gut tells me a little ostentatious "wedding invite" detail would boost...
You folks talking bout story telling this forum I talk about on Facebook with Lorrie is one that will definitely allow you to hone these skills! A week into the 30 days if you can still get invited in to this event you should try or at least the next one!
