    • Either one is fine.

      • Which one would I put in a headline?

        • I can’t see either one in a headline. A headline conveys benefits. Quote and Bid are not benefits. People aren’t really looking for quotes. They are looking to get a new kitchen or whatever for a reasonable cost and not get scammed.

          • My product is teaching tradesmen how to make a good income through quoting or bidding. Therefore the headline sentence will have benefits in it. For example: “Killer Bidding Secrets” or “Killer Quoting Secrets”

            My product is teaching tradesmen how to win jobs from residential home owners.

            • Those aren’t my headline, but you can get my direction. Every culture has most used/preferred words that very slightly from other countries…

            • I think that the word you use would depend on the rest of the headline. In that example, Bid would be better just because it sounds better. Killer quoting secrets is a bit awkward. I don’t think that overall there is a preferred word.

              Just my opinion, though.

    • Bid comes from the idea that the companies are competing to have you as a client. Bid is the term used in the construction industry as well as in a lot of larger scale landscaping.         I’ll find out from my list (when I press the green button to start building this list) which term is more widely used in the context I’m using it in. Slang terms etc. I’ll buy the domain names for both. In the meanwhile I’ll split test each to see what results I get.

    • Hi Patrick: Pete and Ayries made good points. One thing you have to consider is that if your prospects are going after homeowners, the homeowners almost always use “quote”, even though it is technically a competition between contractors.

      Story and Voice is Lesson 9. If you follow the instruction there about developing your own story and voice you can do the same thing to develop your client’s story and voice, as well.

    • Ask: How did you get started in this business? I think the direct way is always the best. People like to talk about how they got started. Then you can ask more questions as they come up in conversation.

      Maybe I’m missing something here. Have you tried asking and had people not respond to that?

    • I have asked. Mostly about affiliates though.

    • Hi Kevin: Not really time for another swipe file letter since we just posted one on Tuesday but have one sex letter I can publish tomorrow.

      The one I have is for a book called “What Women Want”. Not sure if it is the same, but I’ll find out, and this is a good one, anyway.
