I’m new around here after buying John’s course that just landed in my inbox yesterday. My bio will give more of the fun facts but for now, I’m working on an offer in the resume writing space. I’m running some test Google ads that are getting clicks but not purchases.
I suspect I need to change up the landing page instead of sending them to a…Read more

Hi, I’m Rusydi.
I’m a former copywriter and content strategist for an events company. I had the privilege to run marketing campaigns for speakers such as Tony Robbins, Jay Abraham and Robert Kiyosaki in 2019.
I typically write email sequences, paid advertising (Facebook, Google and YouTube Ads), and also long-form sales pages.
Now, I a…Read more

Hi Rusydi:
I think that the first challenge facing people who are transitioning from employee to entrepreneur is time management. You go from having an employer telling you what to do and when to do it (to a greater or lesser extent) to having to tell yourself what to do and when to do it, without having anyone standing over your shoulder making…Read more

Another thing you can do is request a hot seat. John and Stan can give you some ideas about how and where to start.
I will also suggest you get John’s Freelance course. It is very inexpensive and will give you some great tips on how to get clients for a copywriting business.

Hey everyone. I just became a member and I wanted to introduce myself. I have an online business that helps personal trainers build their business. I started about a year ago and am slowly building.
I’ve studied Gary Halbert and am so excited to add to my copy skills with John Carlton’s materials.
I’m also hoping to connect with some…Read more

Hi all,
Just introducing myself. I have received John Carlton’s newsletters for many years.
I am a Hypnotist who specializes in releasing emotional traumas to help my clients create their futures the way they want it. However, I am now pivoting from one-on-one work to doing online group sessions, so copy writing will be integral to f…Read more

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Fundamentals
Like many things about online marketing, the SEO rules and best practices never stop changing. For good reasons. An ever-growing army of people invest countless hours trying to get their pages (or clients' pages) at the top of search engine results. Some care if they...
John Carlton’s Best Ads: Slash Strokes… Without Even Trying!
Here, I confronted a major objection in the reader's mind right off the bat: Everyone on the house list for this client had recently been hammered with piece after piece... and the list was fatiguing. So I took a more clever path to their heart (and...
John Carlton’s Best Ads: Who Else Wants To Earn An Extra $96,485?
Here is a version of another ad I talk about in "Kick-Ass Copywriting Secrets". The client is a "coach"-- a consultant who helps doctors get their act together. Which, for most health care professionals, means reducing stress and work hours, while increasing...
John Carlton’s Best Ads: Absolutely Confidential
Staying on top of the martial arts market is no walk in the park. It's not like baseball, where the rules and skills required stay pretty much the same for decades. Fighting skills change dramatically and constantly, as last year's "big thing" is picked apart and...
Hi Eric: It is hard to make a sale directly from an ad. You are better off giving something away for a person’s email address and continuing the conversation so you can show them that you are an authority. You can use the email list to sell additional products, too.
There is nothing inherently better about a long or short sales letter. You…Read more
Thanks Virginia. I was wondering if anyone had replied to this and just saw the notification tucked away yesterday. But someone else told me something very similar to what you said, so I worked on a different landing page.
So I’ve taken a different approach now and am wondering if I can get some feedback on this landing page.
It’s the landing…Read more
