Why does John start with researching the market and not with the prospect or product?
And then would the prospect of product be best to research next after the market?

How much in demand are people that specialize is sales funnel copywriting versus writing online sales letters and video sales letters?
-
See my answer below. There is demand for all of them.
Looking for magical shortcuts is rarely the best use of anyone’s time. Yes, you could buy a lottery ticket, win $10,000,000, and that would likely solve all money issues for a good long time.
Or, you could get good at copy. The similarities been all platforms dwarf the differences. (Yes,…Read more

Are video sales letters or online sales letters more in demand now?
-
Both are in demand. I would shy away from anyone telling you there is more demand for one or the other.
Most likely, they are at best speaking from their own recent experience. Or they are trying to sell you training, consulting, or tools that support one more than the other.
There are ads on broadcast TV, cable TV, radio, and the internet.…Read more

Hey there, I’m an email copywriter and I need a little insight into the idea of “show don’t tell”.
I’m repeatedly corrected on this by my copy chief and I’m still not really “getting it”. I want to fully understand this concept so I can correct myself BEFORE it reaches the desk of my copy chief for review.
Thanks!

Hi Nick: Since you are a member of David Deutsch’s Inner Circle, I would suggest you ask this question there. That way you get answers from both David and Stan.

Hey Virginia, where do I do that at? I’m not finding it.

You should have received an email yesterday with the link to submit copy or ask questions. If you didn’t receive it let me know. We will be sending out another tomorrow morning.

Hi Nick. We ran out of time in yesterday’s DD’s Inner Circle session. (For anyone who wants to know more >> https://alistcopysecrets.com/david-deutsch-inner-circle/).
We will lead off with your question in the next session. I think a lot of copywriters would benefit from what David can share. It’s one of the things that makes his copy stand…Read more

How to Use the Google Keyword Planner
Google has a good (free) keyword suggestion tool that will also give estimates (from the horse's mouth, so to speak) of monthly searches for each keyword. The problem is that several years ago Google stopped giving exact estimates and now, for search volume, the...
How to Do Dynamic Testing on Facebook
Facebook advertising is very popular right now. It is easy to use, has effective targeting options and, at least for now, tends to be less expensive than Google Ads or other paid media. You have to test your ideas, though, to find the most effective ad... no matter...
How to Find Duplicate Images Online
It has always been fairly easy to find duplicate text content online, using either a Google search or a site like Copyscape. But, how do you find out if an image you created (or had created for you) is being used by others? We found a site that lets you know if an...
If you just can’t seem to write at a 5th grade level…
Some people just naturally write using plain English and simple words. For others, it is not so easy (should I say "simple"?). They just naturally use 50 cent words when they speak, and write using the same, sometimes convoluted, words and phrases. To the rescue come...
Usually you start with some idea of what type of product you want to sell. Otherwise you wouldn’t know what market to research. You research the market to find out if it is large enough to support sales. If not, then there is no need to do any more research on either the product or prospect. If the market is large enough you develop your avatar s…Read more
