  • Hello All. I am Jack MacKenzie( Jc to my friends). I’ve been a Respiratory Therapist, ECMO Specialist for almost 30 years now. Healthcare has been very very good to me but, to confess, I’ve been a frustrated writer since I was about 10 years old. My efforts have always been sporadic at best with a few scattered publications, but nothing foc…Read more

  • What is the way to establish/increase perceived value when you sell premium products or services?

    • Hi, Amadeus,

Generally, the same way you justify any price, just moreso:

      1. By comparing it to other products or alternative ways of solving the problem or satisfying the craving that are more expensive and/or time (time is money) consuming.

      2. By showing the value that will accrue to them in terms of money or time saved or gained

      3. Making…Read more

    • Hi Amadeus: Another thing to consider is your relationship with your prospects. Do they know who you are? Are they willing to spend money with you? If you have done things to establish yourself as an expert, someone worth listening to, people will be more anxious to purchase from you. If your prospects are on social media, you should be…Read more

    • You should also try the flip side of the coin of David’s (2).

The cost of not having the product. How much time they are wasting now that his product will save. How much money they are spending on other things (that aren’t as good, or are more complicated).

Most people will spend more to avoid loss than they will for possible gain.

    • Thank you so much, David, Virginia and Stan!

I’ll definitely think through the gain/loss thing.
It’s challenging in edu business because there’s no direct financial gain like in business. But there’s emotional gain, status gain, sense of accomplishment, I have to figure that out.

And we need to be more present on social media – 100% – but I…Read more

  • Hey…

What would be the best way to find the best combination of media to reach the demographics, psycho graphics and psychic graphics below? The aim is to offer them a lead generation magnet first, then interior design services on the backend.
My first thought was to target new homeowners with Facebook ads. Next, find out where they are…Read more

    • Hi Chis,

First, good on you for spending the time trying to get inside the world of your target market.

If I’m you, trying to find customers for local interior design services, the first things I do are:

      * Set up the flycatcher. A website to capture the leads. Email or phone numbers. Whatever I can get. You’re not too busy to call everyone…Read more

    • Thank you so much, Stan!

I lost count of the number of ideas I got from your reply.

Thank you for taking the time to reply extensively. I really appreciate it.

I feel like I have a focus now.

  • I have a question I really want to ask everyone here.

I am considering “niching” down to a financial copywriter.

At the moment I am not focused on a particular niche and feel I just accept a lot of low paying jobs because I don’t know exactly what it is I “specialise” in.

I have a background in trading/investing and have a huge love for…Read more
