Hey everyone, I’m following the freelance course and am currently going through my “shameless whoring stage”; I’m asking you all to critique my copy. I just finished doing a sales letter rewrite for a fitness eBook that I bought and use. This is not my product; I currently have no clients so I’m taking the initiative and creating my own clients by…Read more

Question for John:
John I recently designed a three step funnel which consists of a lead magnet ,5 FREE hours of online continuing education, the tripwire gives them another 5 hours for $7.00 and the core offer is a yearly subscription giving them access to my entire catalogue for 12 months.
What I want most out of this copyrighting course is to…Read more-
Hi Gary: Since you are in the SWS, John will give you advice on how to structure your offer when you get to that step. Not to put you off, but you have to take it one step at a time.
By the way…I haven’t seen any Canadian wines, either. I’ll have to look for them. Maybe you guys just hoard them for yourselves?
Best of luck in the SWS

With 130 wineries we have some great wine to choose from however most of them are boutique wineries so they don’t have enough inventory to make it across the border.

Hello, I joined yesterday. I’m Wendy based in Devon, England. I handmake face cream/moisturiser, tonics, serums that sort out dry or dehydrated skin. But the end result is women feeling better about themselves, getting compliments, raised confidence etc.
Yesterday I implemented one tip from David Garfinkel’s March 2013 post about creating a…Read more

Hi Wendy,
Good for you. Focus on one thing at a time. Get that done. Move on to the next thing.
Online marketing can seem like a never ending and overwhelming set of tasks. Truth is, it’s a series of not-too-hard tasks. Chip away at 3-6 a week and in no time you’ve got something up and running that can be tested and tweaked as need.
-
Hehe, yes it does feel never-ending…good to know that’s the way it is, and not a sign of being rubbish at it. Thanks for your note!

Hi Wendy: Just for the record, that video wasn’t mine. That was Susie Nelson, who was here before me.
Anyway, to answer your question…in case you don’t know what a long-tail keyword is, it is just a keyword that has 4 or more words in it. Long-tail keywords are valuable because they tell more about what the person has in mind when they…Read more

Thank you so much.Great explanation (in easy to understand English, no techno speak ) and I’ve watched your video and found a bundle of keywords, brilliant. My email signature now has a list with keywords getting a lot of searches. Let’s see what happens. Thank you @virginia-drew

Hey Ian,
The easiest way I’ve found to create swipe copy on ANY subject is to go to http://www.clickbank.com, click on ‘Marketplace’, and just look at the niche you’re interested in.
Then, watch the top 3-5 VSLs in that niche, transcribe the opens (or the whole thing) and boom. Instant swipe file.-
Hi Angie,
Thank you for your direction, and feedback.
Over the next couple of days, I will thoroughly interrogate click bank for copy examples. This is beginning of my Marketing journey, from a raw rookieās perspectiveā¦
Warmest regards,
Ian

Angie is right on the money, Ian.
The other thing to do is use your network of colleagues, and ask about any ads or campaigns they know are crushing it… then follow up and get on those lists, receive the emails, and devour the links.
Collecting a good swipe-file is an on-going affair. You keep your eyes out for good stuff (while ALWAYS…Read more

Hey everyone! I\’m doing market research and I need some help. What\’s your favorite tool to dive deep into YouTube keywords? I want to know how many times each term was searched for on YouTube so I can judge popularity and competition, while getting an idea of the monthly/weekly number of searches. So like AdWords keyword planner but for YT. Thanks!
-
Hi Ben: I don’t know of any free keyword tools specifically for Youtube. The Youtube ads are done through Google Adwords. I took a quick look at the Keyword planner and don’t see any specific mention of Youtube. There are some paid tools which you can find with a Google Search.
One thing you can do is go to some popular videos and find out…Read more

Thanks so much for your answer. It’s good to know that YouTube runs VIA adwords, so I don’t have to get used to another platform when it comes time to run ads on Google/YouTube. Thanks for the tips on finding keywords. That’s really helpful. I figured the same thing with videos being searched on Google too. I was confused by the huge disparity…Read more

A lot of the views are probably from sharing the video, having it come up as a suggested video (in the right column or after another video is finished) embedding it on websites, and direct youtube searches, which wouldn’t show up in the Google planner numbers. I think that as far as Youtube is concerned, the Google planner could be used more…Read more

That’s great insight. Thanks for taking the time to respond so in depth!
I’m going to read every word posted in SWS. It’s my main focus for the next two months, above everything else. š

Not sure what you trying to do. Are you suggesting that they replace their content on the home page with your LFSL? If so…I’m not sure how receptive they are going to be. Someone, clearly, was involved in writing what they have now and it ain’t bad. There are going to be some folks who will resent your “meddling” with their “baby.”

Hey John, thanks so much! This is very helpful feedback, I will definitely start looking more at local businesses, I have many ideas on how to reach out to them in a unique way as well
Hello Semaj, I enjoyed reading your sales letter, even though, muscle building isn’t an area of interest. And this says a lot because I have the Aspergers focus on only what I find interesting, so for you to break through that.. well you’re doing stuff right. I especially loved.. there are no secrets. Reminded me of the Kung Fu Panda movie, when…Read more
Hi Semaj,
First, good for you for hustling like this. I’ll spare you the story, but one of they keys to the success I had in my first career taking initiative. This attitude works and you’ll leave 99% of the people out there in the dust as long as you keep taking steps like this one.

Hey Semaj,
Just wanted to say that I freaking LOVE the way you’re going after business like this.
It takes balls and determination to rustle up clients like you’re doing and I really admire that : )
