So, I am noticing many (not all) restaurants are becoming web friendly now and have email addresses to contact them.
How would one go about pitching the owners in this way? I have a sells pitch letter which I will convert to a PDF file but I suspect not many would even open it without some sort of introduction.
Ive worked in my family…Read more

Hi fellow rebels,
I have a client who delivers promotional staffing solutions to exhibitions in the PR world.
There’s an opportunity to up sell security, event management, and various other services to existing clients.
Other than emailing the list to tell them and telling clients on the phone, does anyone have any suggestions how to up…Read more

Howdy people!
With online traffic sources (FB, Google, etc.) cracking down on offer ads/sites that promote specific gains (Ie. How to make $10,000 a day in yer underwear!)…
What is the most effective way to keep the “power” when rewriting (Ie. How to make an extraordinary living every day in yer underwear!…doesn’t have the same punch…Read more

Hi Christopher: You have to find out what your target audience wants. There are better ways to reach them than to tell them how much money they will make. Dig in to see what that money would do for them. Talk in terms of vacations, quit your job, spend more time with family, etc. Paint a picture of the wonderful life they will have after they…Read more

In addition, a lot of people would see “$10,000 per day” and it would turn them off, because it is just too unbelievable. You have to speak in terms that resonate with your audience.

Even if you don’t make outlandish promises, you should have a “plan B” in case your account is suspended. It is a very real possibility whenever you use paid media to advertise biz opp these days. I forget what market he was talking about, but in one of the hot seats John talks about competition whose business plan accounts for time spent in…Read more

Thanks Virginia! Painting the picture about the heaven they’ll be in after is a great idea.

Never heard of accounts being “in jail” Could you elaborate on this on this or this a source I could read about?

Hi Gene: I guess I wasn’t clear about this. What I was trying to say is that in some markets (biz opp, diet in particular) there is so much money out there that some people don’t care about doing things legally. They will say whatever it takes to get the sales, and they make so much money that going to jail for doing something illegal is just…Read more

Hello fellow rebels. My name is Gene Noh.
Just a quick question I have. I am trying to get restaurants into email marketing as a way to engage their customers on a weekly basis as this would help with repeat business.
Many restaurant owners use paid advertising through Yelp. Any ideas, thoughts or resources I could look at in order to…Read more

Hi Gene: Have you gone around and spoken with some restaurant owners to see what their objections are? I am not sure that you should be presenting it as an alternative but maybe in addition to paid advertising. One way to get in front of them is to join your local Chamber of Commerce. Dependig on how large the Chamber is, there would be…Read more

You’re absolutely correct in that I am presenting email marketing as an addition to Yelp but that Yelp is a great resource when it is used as a free platform. Yelp advertising is really hit or miss or its target at random audiences that wouldnt be interested in the type of food the establishment serves. Will be uploading the draft soon. Thank y…Read more

We are marketing a service that allows U.S. timeshare owners to take 100% tax deductions on all the costs of owning their timeshare. When a timeshare owners contract expires they actually got the use of it it for nothing. Our service is also 100% tax deductible and clients can write it off on their 1st year tax return after becoming a client.…Read more

You have to have a really compelling subject line. Also, you probably can’t sell this totally through email. You are better off sending an email and following up by phone. All businesses have times when they are not busy. You just have to find those times and call them then.
So maybe instead of a pdf file, I should just keep it short with a subject line that will get the email opened?
And for the body maybe just a few sentences at most and then give them my contact number to reach me.
Please advise. Thank you Virginia
That would probably be better, but you are still going to have to follow up with them. Best thing to do is test different emails and see which work the best.
Any way you do it you will have several touches before you make a sale. You could have a very short email at first, then follow up with one that has a link to the PDF (with your contact info inside). Then you can see which ones click on the link to the PDF. Follow up with all but you will have a different script to use for those who downloaded…Read more
