Hey guys,
I’m Dean from Brunei Darussalam. Excited to be here.
My biggest challenge is how can I go from where I am right now to be where I want to be.
As a copywriter, we get the privilege to write for other people and to sell your own products. I write for other people at the same time sell sports stuffs.
But I am also working full time as…Read more

Hi guys, I was in the last SWS class. Did some free work but no one has put out the letters I wrote for them. This week I joined some copywriting forums/groups, Upwork, posted on Craigslist… Reading books on sales. Trying to get my first paid gigs. What would you do?

Hi Jonathan: Did you buy John’s Freelance Guide? That gives some great info how to get started and it only costs $149 (you get a discount because you already have Kickass Copywriting Secrets). I bought it a few years ago and really liked it It is here: http://marketingrebel.com/freelance-course/. That is a great place to start.

@virginia Kinda off topic question: Do you know of a place online I can make design direct mail type fliers? Like this one: http://kopywritingkourse.com/wp-content/uploads/powerwashing-marketing3.png

Hi Jonathan. I think the best software for that kind of stuff is Photoshop or InDesign (Both by Adobe). You might be better off finding someone on Odesk or Elance, especially if you can give them an idea of what you want. If you can find a good designer you could keep using him/her in the future.

Johnathan – Unless you need to add this to your skill set to earn a living, I’d farm this out. 99designs.com and fiverr.com have armies of reasonably priced designers. As long it’s not terrible, the graphic layout won’t make or break this. The copy & offer will.

Hi Jonathan. It’s good that you’re trying different things, and keeping up with the Freelance Course’s stages. The “x” factor is just more of that — keep trying different things, find new resources where clients are looking for writers, and know that you’re in the early stages. It’s a grind, sure, but this is where you hone your skill sets. Don’t…Read more

Hi Jonathan, Canva.com is a great free place to write the kind of flyers you want, plus many other kinds of web-based designs. The only thing to be aware of is that you’ll be downloading the file as an image, so you’ll be pasting an image into an email to do that. Email servers don’t like that and will likely mark your email as spam. However, I’d…Read more

Intro to Snapchat

World Time Buddy gives you the time anywhere in the world
