  • Hey guys, does the material in ‘simple writing system’ and ‘kick-ass copy writing’ apply to writing for charities, non-profit and fundraisers?

    • From my understanding yes because you’d still need to push people’s emotional hot buttons in order to get them to part with their wallets, even when it’s for a good cause.

    • It applies to anywhere you want to sell anything. Even if what you are selling is yourself…to a prospective employer, a prospective spouse…the principles are the same. They even could be used if you want to get your kids to do something they don’t want to do!

      • Love that Virginia…getting the kids to do something they don’t want. I didn’t think of it that way. I will now!

    • Before he starts to write, John gathers all the information he can about the market, the person he is selling to (his avatar), what he has to offer, and why that person should buy the product.     Admittedly it needs some work eg to reverse/ mitigate risk, but it’s a work in progress.

    • Hi Bo: I have a few suggestions on how to simplify and target your USP more effectively:

      First, I would remove the reference to self-help books. I don’t think it is necessary, and it shuts out all your prospects who have tried other coaching programs but haven’t tried reading books.
