    Could I get some feedback on these hooks? The objection is first, then an attempt to overcome it with the hook. This is for personal training industry. It is challenging but I need to improve and get this. I have already been critiqued by my wife (personal trainer who states these are the objections she gets all the time).       First question: Do these people really exist? If not, you have to speak with your wife and find actual people who have gotten these types of results. If not, then you couldn’t actually use these in letters.

        Thank you Virginia. No, they are not usable. I attempted to produce fictional examples and use John’s process to learn structure (power nouns and verbs) based on what my wife hears from people. I desire to learn the fundamental process to be able to write copy as a freelancer, as well as my personal endeavors.

          Your hook must grab the reader’s attention, but you can’t make stuff up (actually, people do, but you run the risk of FTC problems). You are trying to sell a product and you should tell the best possible story, but you can’t lie about what the product does or what results are achieved.

            Thanks. Agree 100%. It was the mechanics of the hook I was after in learning. I understand research, writing and re-writing are key as John stresses. Since, I have a few testimonials as a Realtor, I can review them and glean some hook material.
            Onward.
