Dudes:
Is timing really everything?
I ask in regards to a direct mail ad to sell a 45′ powerboat. Hypothetically speaking (or not) if I were to write a direct Mail piece to sell my boat, went through all the trouble of buying a qualified list (does $200 for 2,500 supposed viable prospects sound reasonable?) and sent them a sales letter, is it…Read more

Question número dos, do SWS students get a complimentary membership to MRIC?
-
Alicia: You get membership to MRIC for the 2-month duration of SWS.
-
-
Did you just receive this email? That was sent out last May to promote the SWS coaching that started the beginning of June. The express course is conducted whenever they are starting a larger SWS course, so it is not going on now. I am not sure if or when they will be doing that again.
-
Well… I got it on SEP 26th
But I have been patiently waiting for the emails to come.
Am I to understand that they will not?-
Hi Nick: I’m sorry about that. I told Stan so he can change that confirmation email. I don’t think you will be receiving anything else unless and until they start another express course. The express course is a live course that is only given when they have a multi-class course starting, and since they are going more and more to the…Read more

Hi Nick: Can you tell me where it was you originally opted in to receive the information about the SWS express course? What I am looking for is the URL of the opt-in form itself.
-
I wish I could remember how I got there. I know I was searching for SWS reviews and such when I came across the offer… if that helps.
-
Thanks. If you do see it again I’d appreciate if you could send me the URL of the optin page. They are supposed to be hidden.

Hey all: I asked a question about copywriting and voice/brand last night. Today I found an answer in John and Kevin’s Psych Insights for Modern Marketers (P14MM22). It’s a podcast full of rich information: http://pi4mm.com/

I would not send a letter to sell a boat to anyone up north right now. The last thing they are thinking about is buying a boat. if I were to go that route I would sort the list by state and send to the southern states now.
Also, where is your boat? It might be difficult to sell a boat to someone across the country unless there was something very special about it.
In the northeast. What’s special about it is the price, it’s pretty low compared to comps and it’s in superb condition. But I have to research what boat owners look for because I don’t think that price is 1 or 2 on their needs list.
Hi Alicia, this is a question of nuances. You need to know who you want to sell to to answer the question.
If you want to sell to people who are looking for a deal, there is a subset of people in any “gear” industry that shop more in the off-season because they know they’ll find the gear they want on sale.
Then there is another subset who…Read more
