Hey guys, I just wanted to give you an update since the hot seat. We reworked the landing page and made many of the changes from Stan and John suggested. Here is the next version.
http://www.Conceivable.com
We are still reworking the video for the landing page and the form has to get changed on the back end because it feeds into Stripe so that will…Read more -

Hello all,
I’m brand new to this program, and also to marketing. I recently entered the business and financial world and am in marketing and communications- I am also still a student. My company has been focusing on how to market better to prospective clients- which includes other financial advisers (as we coach these advisers) and also possible…Read more

Welcome! This club is a fantastic resource. I think you’ll be pleased.

Hi Amanda: Your question is a bit broad. What type of investments are you selling? Are you a broker, a fee-based planner, or something else? Are you limited by law as to what sales techniques you can use? Selling investment planning to younger people is difficult because most of them aren’t in a place where they really think it is necessary.…Read more

All right, here’s a suggestion: Since your company is going hunting for a certain kind of investors, get hip to Adwords. Just Google it, and go watch the tutorials and spend some time getting familiar with the processes of using it.
What Adwords will let you do is put your message in front of people within your target range who are actively…Read more

Amanda: If you want a great, yet very inexpensive, intro to Adwords, pick up Perry Marshall’s book. He is offering it at a huge discount with free shipping and we have a link here: https://1023.marketingrebelclub.com/perry-marshall-adwords-psych-out-smackdown-marketing-wl/. You won’t be able to access the video on that page because you aren’t a…Read more

Hey Amanda, Like others said, it depends on what exactly you’re marketing with investments, who is most looking for that and how to find them. I’m more than happy to chat with you and help you figure this stuff out. especially if you’re new to marketing, and with so much on the topic for sale on the internet, it can be totally confusing. But, it’s…Read more

An excellent resource are the dual podcasts Market Foolery and Motley Fool Money both available on Itunes.
Get hold of Chris Hill (who presents them) on Twitter and ask him if he has any ideas. Great guy.
He is also very interested in getting youngsters into investing.

I have been dealing with investors for 2 years now and the one thing I will tell you is that the new ones are EXTREMELY cautious. They typically dont understand the investment process and have trouble getting their mind around the risk associated with any non traditional investment process. Often they need a bit of pressure to get them over the…Read more

So here’s the thing. 57 years old, speak and write good english, well informed and a reasonably functional and inquisitive brain. I ave always been intrigued by the idea of copywriting but never had time to pursue it. I have some time now as I have a small online business which needs about an hour a day of my time. It brings in enough to take care…Read more

Edward – The people I work with who are what I’ll call VERY successful copywriters — I’ll define that as having written MANY ads that have grossed well into 6 or 7-figures in sales — NEVER… and I can’t put this in big enough caps — NEVER stop learning and studying copywriting.
They buy most every book on the topic. They buy the course of…Read more

Edward,
SWS is something I’m working through now and have found it quite beneficial! When I say “working through” is I decided due to more time constraints than monetary to take the DIY version but my advice to you if you can swing it and with an hour online biz a day paying the bills it sounds like you may have the time is if the Coaching version…Read more -
Hi Edward!
If you are on the fence, please take the course! You will not regret it, I promise you.My situation: I’m NOT a native English speaker, I’ve been working in software for last 15 years and have never ever thought about marketing or copywriting – they never existed for me. Until about a year ago. I then discovered John Carlton and his…Read more

Uhm, after rwading you original message again, I realise that you weren’t asking if joining SWS or not.
But! My answer still applies. Take the course. It will speed up your learning ten fold!

Thanks Stan, Tania and Larry for sound advice. Sounds like I should have bought SWS instead of the other package.
I think I will go through the stuff I have bought already and then tackle SWS if I am fired up enough after that.
I can only find the tutored version on the site. Where is the other version?
Thanks again!

Edward – When we are running SWS Coaching Programs, we pull down the non-coaching offer.
You can get all of the materials, w/o personal coaching, here –

Edward: If you purchase the SWS coaching you get a $100 discount because you already own the KACS (which is included in SWS). Just so you know. I can’t recommend the live coaching highly enough. I took it in 2010 and can’t imagine anyone trying to start a copywriting career without this type of education. Especially if you want to get started quickly.

Hi All,
Saw John speak at AWAI’s Bootcamp.
Two takeaways:
1. Read a Danielle Steele novel
2. Watch Showtime porn
No wonder I love that man!

Hey folks! How about some feedback for a headline please!
B2B Training and coaching firm looking to assist their client , a web design firm, generate leads for their programs with a free webinar CURRENTLY TITLED “How to Create Proposals that win more work”
Sign ups for webinar lackluster at best!
My thought on new headline for event is:

Not sure what you mean. Does the web design firm need clients for web design services? You say “programs”
The B2B firm is trying to achieve this for them with a webinar which is getting no signups? Will the B2B firm or the web design firm conduct the proposed webinar?

Thanks for your feedback!

Larry – Knowing little to nothing about the webinar or what I’ll get if I signup for whatever the webinar promotes, it’s hard to offer any specific advice on a headline.
What are the benefits of attending the webinar?
What are the benefits of whatever will be offered?Your call if you want to sell the webinar on it’s own merits or using the…Read more

“Don’t try to make the headline do more than a headline can do.”
Stan you hit the proverbial nail smack on the head thank you…. this is exactly what I was trying to do make the headline the do all be all and it’s not! That was what I needed and it should have been obvious… Thanks!!!

John Carlton’s Best Ads: The Penny Letter

John Carlton’s Best Ads: Shortcuts For The Scanner

Hi Kirsten – I like this version a lot better.
You’re still asking for, IMO, too much info on the opt-in form. Cycle Length is a very personal question at this point. Especially since you haven’t taken the time to explain why you need that info. Better to ask for that after you’ve made the case why you need it. Better that’s done after they…Read more
That is great feedback. The landing page is now converting at 10.5% so about 50 a day are moving to check out. I saw Conceivable come through my newsfeed of FB, and I thought “I KNOW HER FROM MRIC”!!

Hi Kirsten,
Thanks for submitting yourself to the potentially brutal assault of a hot seat. And letting all of us learn from it.

Good work I think this new design is a step in the right direction. Just one point of feedback: The user testimonials are actually quite difficult to read. If you’ve ever read Ca$hvertising they talk about the crime of using ‘reverse type’ where you dark out the background and make the type white. I think if you used the same type of design that…Read more
