Hello all. I’m a new member. I’m attempting to grow my business and have found that I enjoy copywriting. In addition to perfecting my business copy I’d like to become a freelance copywriter. I feel like I’ve learned a lot of information from different sources but need some direction with really getting going and making money as a free lancer and…Read more

Hi Russell: Welcome to the Club. We have a lot of information that will be of interest to you. If you go to the Member’s guide (link in the right column that says “complete guide”) there is a link to a pdf of all the posts in the Club. Well, most of the posts, anyway. It doesn’t include the current series I am doing on podcasting.
But that…Read more

So i finished the rough copy and decided to delete the first two pages of copy. Something I learned from watching one of John’s videos. Night and day difference in the copy, now I just to flesh out my product more and I think I can say it’s done.

Hi I am a new member. I spent some time writing sales copy out by hand and liked Gary Halbert’s sales letters. That led me to John Carlton so I joined to find out more.

@virginia-drew : Hi Virginia, I watched your excellent Youtube marketing video series last night. (https://1023.marketingrebelclub.com/category/more-prospects/video-marketing/marketing-with-youtube/)
I know that in some cases youtube does not like affiliate links in descriptions. Have there been (as far as you are aware) any problems with this…Read more

Hi Damian: I have never heard that Youtube doesn’t like affiliate links. I know that Facebook doesn’t like links of any kind, especially those that go off Facebook and they don’t like affiliate links.
Maybe someone else has more information about this than I and can chime in here.
I’m glad you liked the videos.

Hmmm…we have had a great experience with linking back to our site from FB. In fact we get many more shares doing that than we got posting directly to FB. Links from FB drive most of the traffic to our site. We’re beginning to play with FB remarketing so we’re hopeful that will help with conversions as well.

Hi John: Are you talking about FB ads? I am just talking about organic traffic. I am not saying that you can’t get traffic by linking from Facebook. I have a site that gets a lot of traffic from there. What I am saying is that if you have 2 posts, 1 that stays on FB and another that links off, you will get more reach on the one that stays on…Read more

John Carlton’s Best Ads: The Accidental Discovery
Golf is one of those golden markets that is clearly targeted...and populated with people who have an irrational passion for the sport. They don't bat an eye when I address them as "golf nuts" (which I frequently do). They glorify in their passion. They are so...
John Carlton’s Best Ads: World Famous Street-Fighter Will Give You A FREE GUN
This piece has mailed as a letter and run as a magazine ad for over seven years. It's a prime example of ''in your face' muscle writing-- it literally asks you to find a large friend, and have him point the gun at you and squeeze the trigger. It's not a "nice" ad....
John Carlton’s Best Ads: A Special Notice
I always load up my ads with urgency. You never want to let your reader think she has the luxury to put the copy aside and think about the offer. World-class salesmen know that letting the prospect "think about it" will kill the sale. Here is an example of piling...
John Carlton’s Best Ads: Final Notice!
Another simple tactic to get extra readership out of an ad, without changing another word in the main copy. The "look" of the words "Final Notice" is important, too. It looks like a real stamp, and the ink is red. It is stamped off-center, so it appears to have been...
Hi Monique: Have you checked out John’s Freelance Course? It will show you how to get started as a freelancer and is not too expensive. You can check it out here: http://marketingrebel.com/freelance-course/
