Hey guys, does the material in ‘simple writing system’ and ‘kick-ass copy writing’ apply to writing for charities, non-profit and fundraisers?

hey john, another question 🙂
what the exactly steps do you make, before you start write your copy?
and what is the steps do you make, when you start write your copy?
thanks!-
Before he starts to write, John gathers all the information he can about the market, the person he is selling to (his avatar), what he has to offer, and why that person should buy the product. Here is my new USP. I’d love some feedback on it:
“Hi. My name is Bo Headlam. For the last several years, I have been helping new entrepreneurs develop the confidence to acquire more clients so that they can get their businesses up and running, even if they’ve tried and failed many times in the past.”
Thanks for your help! -

Hi John,
I hope you don’t mind that I’ve leveraged off you as “one of the world’s leading copywriters” in this copy which leverages my legal wordsmithing into legal copywriting:
Admittedly it needs some work eg to reverse/ mitigate risk, but it’s a work in progress.
Regards,
Greg

Hi everyone. Happy Holidays! I’ve just started the Simple Writing System, to help market my new group coaching program that will be launched during first quarter 2017.
I’d love some feedback on my USP:
“Hi. My name is Bo Headlam. For the last several years, I have been helping entrepreneurs and other high achievers discover and remove…Read more-
Hi Bo: I have a few suggestions on how to simplify and target your USP more effectively:
First, I would remove the reference to self-help books. I don’t think it is necessary, and it shuts out all your prospects who have tried other coaching programs but haven’t tried reading books.
Also, I would take out the part about discovering and…Read more

John Carlton’s Best Ads: Butt-Ugly Golf
I've written something like 4,000 direct mail letters and direct response ads for golf products now. Okay, that's a bit of an exaggeration, but not much. Sometimes, the best ads come from sheer desperation. I was hitting the very bottom of my bag of tricks last year,...
John Carlton’s Best Ads: Everything And The Kitchen Sink #2 – Entire Library Of Fighting Videos
There are two ads referenced in this commentary. Â This is the second one (last couple of paragraphs). Another Rodale piece-- this time, they got impatient selling individual books about the various parts of men's lives... and decided to just lump everything together...
John Carlton’s Best Ads: The Financial Bloodbath Caused By Criminal Scum
Gary Halbert gets credit for the headline and concept on this one. I was working with him at the time, in the last days of the Reagan presidency, when the financial markets -- and especially the precious metals markets -- were causing investors migraines. Banks were...
John Carlton’s Best Ads: The Nearly-Crippled Businessman
Here is an early self-defense letter, which struck a major nerve in the customer base for this market. It's run every year for the last decade in the major magazines and mailed even more often to hotlists. The appeal is simple and to the point: This is hard-core...

From my understanding yes because you’d still need to push people’s emotional hot buttons in order to get them to part with their wallets, even when it’s for a good cause.
Ahhh okay, thanks!
It applies to anywhere you want to sell anything. Even if what you are selling is yourself…to a prospective employer, a prospective spouse…the principles are the same. They even could be used if you want to get your kids to do something they don’t want to do!
Love that Virginia…getting the kids to do something they don’t want. I didn’t think of it that way. I will now!
