Howdy to all you “Rebels”
Here’s a challenge for y’all.
I’m from 6 generations of Southern Rebels and I created a web page for Southerners to show their pride in their heritage and to preserve it’s history for future generations. And who also understand that standing up for the Confederate flag is only about honoring the valor and bravery of…Read more

Hi everyone,
I joined today and I’m happy to be here.
I’m building an email list to practice what I’m learning through various copywriters.
I joined the club because I want to learn from the greats and John Carlton is at the top of what I’ve researched and read.
My current issue would be about article structure.
Should I use the AIDA…Read more-
If the blog posts are review-type posts then they shouldn’t be written like sales letters. There are a lot of examples of them online. Just google “best (product)” (where ‘product’ is the name of the product being reviewed) and you will see a lot of review sites. They are positioned as unbiased reviews of competing products, but obviously most…Read more

@virginia-drew
Hi Virginia thanks a lot for your comments about the Camtasia. I’ve had compassion for pretty a long time yet you told me a few things that I didn’t know and I appreciate that. -

Hi everyone, new here.
Question, can someone tell me the difference between the simple writing system and the express?
Thanks
-
Express is basically a free express version and it’s definitely worth going through a couple of times. I haven’t done SWS yet but there were many things I took away and implemented just from express.
-
I just went through it.
-
The Express Course is basically the first couple of steps of the Simple Writing System.

Hi all,
I am a freelance content writer.
I bought John’s course and was delivered an e-book. Is there a way I can download it to my kindle? Reading the book on the phone/laptop screen is slightly inconvenient.-
Hi Prachi: The manual is in PDF format, which can be read by most Kindles. There is a download button on the upper right of the PDF player. Just download it and then upload it to your Kindle. There is an article that explains how to do it here: https://www.groovypost.com/howto/read-pdf-microsoft-word-documents-kindle-device/
If you have any…Read more

John Carlton’s Best Ads: Butt-Ugly Golf
I've written something like 4,000 direct mail letters and direct response ads for golf products now. Okay, that's a bit of an exaggeration, but not much. Sometimes, the best ads come from sheer desperation. I was hitting the very bottom of my bag of tricks last year,...
John Carlton’s Best Ads: Everything And The Kitchen Sink #2 – Entire Library Of Fighting Videos
There are two ads referenced in this commentary. This is the second one (last couple of paragraphs). Another Rodale piece-- this time, they got impatient selling individual books about the various parts of men's lives... and decided to just lump everything together...
John Carlton’s Best Ads: The Financial Bloodbath Caused By Criminal Scum
Gary Halbert gets credit for the headline and concept on this one. I was working with him at the time, in the last days of the Reagan presidency, when the financial markets -- and especially the precious metals markets -- were causing investors migraines. Banks were...
John Carlton’s Best Ads: The Nearly-Crippled Businessman
Here is an early self-defense letter, which struck a major nerve in the customer base for this market. It's run every year for the last decade in the major magazines and mailed even more often to hotlists. The appeal is simple and to the point: This is hard-core...
There are many other ways to get the word out. One thing you could look into is using native advertising networks (ie Taboola) which aren’t as particular about the content of the ad or the theme of the landing page.
Your niche is very passionate, so use that to your advantage. You should be able to get a lot of traffic using free methods.
