I’m building a desk products business, just starting to apply JC’s principles.
My ideal prospect is Dave.
Dave is a smart and highly educated middle manager who mans a cubicle 40 hrs/week.
He sees the holes in the way his boss runs the business but his boss NEVER LISTENS to him nor gives him any REAL AUTHORITY to make any REAL DECISIONS that…Read more

John Carlton’s Best Ads: A Really Long Letter To Every Bodybuilder Who Secretly Believes The Fat Cats Are Ripping Him Off
Here is that notoriously-long letter I wrote to the bodybuilding market a few years back. It's a trimmed-down version of the 23-page letter that originally went out - we condensed a bunch of the charts and whittled the thing down to a nice and tidy 16 pages....
John Carlton’s Best Ads: The 17th Version
This is one of the first letters I wrote for Gary Halbert. And it almost killed me. You see, I was already a hard worker. When I went solo as a freelance writer, I had one rule: Business before pleasure. I had spent my twenties being a...

Great advice Pete, I also had some hot seat coaching with John and Stan yesterday and the echoed some of your comments!
Thanks Pete, certainly not ignoring your advice i’m getting the text changed and will revert back. Thanks very much
I’ve followed your advice Pete, it would be great to get your feedback https://www.fitterhealthierdad.com/
Hi Darren
I think it looks pretty good.
If I remember correctly, you were giving away a 45-minute workout routine, which just sounded like a lot of work to me. This “4-step plan” sounds much more inviting.
Re the sales page for the No Gym Program, I would test the “buy now” CTA in the header. I think it would probably be premature to ask for…Read more

Hi Darren: I think it looks pretty good.
I would add in a short part about you (your story and why you created the product).
You should have uniform capitalization in the heading (all words capitalized). Right now it looks random.
I would test the link to purchase in the header. It may be too early.
When I opened the page, I got a popup…Read more
